The biggest problem was cable end fitment. Many kits use ends that are too large for the regulator rail, forcing you to modify them just to fit. That works once, but if you ever rebuild it again with correctly sized ends, they’ll fit loose and could cause issues down the road.

The other issue was the gear. Most kits only included one gear and it seemed like half of the time I was getting the wrong one. So I would have to order another kit hoping I got the right one to prevent further downtime.

I worked directly with a manufacturer to produce a kit with properly sized cable ends and both gears included. They were also able to use upgraded cable housings that are a much better quality.
